Adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers

Today boys were introduced to negative numbers. We discussed what they are, where we see them and how they are used. With the use of a number line we explored how to analyse which numbers are bigger or smaller in comparison. Afterwards we practiced adding negative numbers by negative numbers, positive numbers with negative numbers and negative numbers with positive numbers.

Tomorrow we will be looking further into subtracting negative numbers and comparing temperatures on thermometers.
